Correct, it evens out at 13 km against Ions where Neutrons push this to 20km they also prevent the Ship from fitting a Tank(CPU and Powergrid whise anything beyond Plates will cost you a fortune to riddle up the CPU Issues even if you have 2k Grid with AWU 5 for a Active Rep) where Aks go with the lighter fitting, less reduction in Range and DPS by downgrading Turrets and no Cap need.
The Mealstorm can field a very good Tank and simlar Gank like a Mega at very close Range(3km) till solid Damage to Med Ranges(up to 35km with Barrage) if you can use the Meds for Tanking(have additonal Tackling avaidable) it is avery good Gang Ship.
The comparence was simply what other Ships are avaidable for this kind of Fights(while also matching the DPS/Tank role of a Mega/Hype). While the Shield Tanks actualy take a big advantage in tankable DPS while not fitting Tackle, Gedon is less hurt by 3 Meds and Abaddon can fit dual Cap Boosters and donŠt suffer from the general lack of a MWD that most common Abaddon fittings have and both can utilize her Range advantage and have less drawbacks by her lower Tracking.
The Blastership stays the same more or less, it still needs to go in range(MWD) and require a Cap Booster just to stay mobile a resonalbe time at the BS Level, you also want a Web since you go at close anyway and realy want to imobilize Targets to put next to all your possible DPS on it. If you go with Plates and Gank it mostly puts you out of RR range(to get RR or RR others), if you go Tank you have to drop Damage Mods and Neutrons what reducing your DPS in this kind of Gang fights to the level of other Weapon Systems or even under the level of other Weapon Systems(that got more Range in the same situation, shooting right away while you still try to get into range).
For gangs where tackling is taken care of there is one option for a bs, pulsebaddon(or pulsegeddon) 45km optimal with scorch, very good dps, godly EHP. Sure, other ships can manage but for fotm *****s it's the pulsebaddon. -- stuff -- |
